FIGHT OR FLIGHT RESPONSE - A comparison between human and horse
Fight or flight Have you ever noticed a horse? Does it have any profound influence on you? Have you ever tried to notice the behaviour of horse?.
It is best understood when we view the nature of horse. Horses are prey animals but well-developed with a response called "fight - or - flight response".
Horse has a connection with that of a human attitude or behaviour. Have you ever related yourself with horse? Horses first reaction to a threat is to flee and sometimes they stand on the ground and defend themselves or when their offspring in case where flight is untenable, such as when a foal would be threatened.
Human behaviour can be very much related with this fight or flight response. We humans are afraid to face the problems then and there. We try to elope out of the situation. How long can we run away from the problems? Life is a circle, it will end in the same place where once we began our journey. One day or the other we have to react or respond to the problems. Each and every problem will definitely have a solution. We have to trace and find it out.
Horses first instinct when frightened is to escape. If running is impossible, horse resorts to biting, kicking or striking and rearing to protect itself. Human tendencies also looks alike, most of the time when we become fed up or when we find that it is impossible to run anymore from the issues, we stand on the ground to face it.
There are three types of people who are categorized based on how they face the predicaments.
TYPE 1 : FLIGHT RESPONSE
This category falls on people who try to run away from the difficulties. But sometimes they blame others for their botheration. Each and every time when the chaos arises they fail to seek the solution but rather they react foolishly by blaming others. Their response will always be of a flight response. This kind of people, will fall onto depression, isolation, frustration and into many emotional swings.
TYPE 2 : FLIGHT OR FIGHT RESPONSE
This reminds me of a proverb "Do or Die". This category falls on those who either try to find the solution or end up their life in afraid to problems. Sometimes they seriously try to solve the problem but when it goes beyond their control they end up in committing suicide. This type of people never blame others but rather they blame themselves.
TYPE 3 : FIGHT RESPONSE
These people act out bravely at times of tough situations, even when the problems threaten them. But they never lose their hope in seeking the end. They fight courageously against the chaos, and try to tackle the situations in a smart way. They always think out in a positive way and have a broad mind. They have a peace within themselves. This helps them to attain solace in their lives.
It may take a lot of effort to work or to continuously see the positivity and the good side of a problem. But we have to think and ponder over, before we could make any judgement or deal with the mistakes.
Whenever we feel like tempted, Lose of hope or frightened, we must sit down relax and can list out the reasons for the creation of a problem. This might help us to put things into proper perspective and to control the situation, and it also helps us to make the right descision. Life is only once. So live a little and always be happy. When a tough situation arises say yourself "Why worry!", and stay cool.
